Blancpain
Founded in 1735 by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, a brand that remained in the family for almost two centuries.
In 1815, his grandson modernized the Villeret offices and created an ultra-thin movement.
A self-confessed diving enthusiast, Jean-Jacques Fiechter, CEO of Blancpain between 1950 and 1980, did not hesitate when the French Navy contacted him with the goal of building a safe, robust, and reliable diving watch. This relationship of the brand with the oceans has continued to this day. In 1961, Blancpain joined the SSIH and, in the 1990s, was acquired by SMH — now the Swatch Group.
