In the 1930s, Frédéric-Emile Blancpain, representing the 7th generation to run the brand, leaves it to his long-time assistant, Betty Fiechter. Becoming the first female CEO of a leading watchmaking company. In 1961, Blancpain became part of the Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH). At the beginning of the 90s, Jacques Piguet agreed to sell Blancpain and Frédéric Piguet to SMH (Swiss Microelectronics and Watch Industries Corporation), which would later become the Swatch Group.
